DEPRESSION

Depression doesn’t have to be a negative thing. Depression can point you towards the things that truly matter and help you create the necessary change you need. We will work together to sort out the messages in your depression experience, assist you in living day to day, and help you stay true to your values.

ANXIETY

Anxiety is a natural emotion that signals potential trouble but doesn’t always make sense to us in the moment. We can work together to help you understand this part of your emotional system and benefit from its usefulness. When anxiety seems to become unhelpful, we can work together on ways to respond effectively.

GRIEF

Loss comes in all shapes and sizes. No matter what the situation, it is loss that shows up when we experience separation from the people, places, or ideas that are important to us. In counselling you can find hope and receive the support you need to do all the necessary holding on and letting go.

CHILDREN

Children can find comfort in counselling when they discover they are not the only ones who feel a certain way or struggle with a particular issue. Areas of practice for children and adolescents include:

Grief, anxiety, depression, self-harm, peer & family conflict, and emotions.

PARENTS

I believe parents are their children’s best resource. One of the most important things parents need to hear is that they’re doing a great job! Counselling can assist you with resources and practical strategies for parenting in complicated situations.

MARRIAGE

In marriage counselling we work together to help you sort out the difficulties in your relationship. We intend to reach goals that nurture both of you and give you hope.

Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis and the Gottman Method are among a variety of resources provided.

Counselling Methods

ATTACHMENT THEORY

Neufeld’s comprehensive model provides a well-rooted approach in developmental psychology, attachment theory, and neuroscience. The practical tools offered through this approach are gentle and effective. Parents and anyone caring for children or adolescents can benefit from this model.

NARRATIVE

Narrative therapy is a method used to assist clients in identifying their personal skills and competencies. The method takes a nonpathologizing approach, focusing on strengths and solutions to change the narrative of their current story to one that brings more joy.

ACT

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is an evidence-based model that has been successful in treating depression, anxiety, self-harm, PTSD, and eating disorders, to name a few. It helps to identify what matters most to us and uses those values to guide us towards a life of meaning and purpose.
